Dr. Jason Mazzarella - Crash Forensic and Occupant Kinematic Specialist

Dr. Jason Mazzarella graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology Movement Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 2001.  Dr. Mazzarella continues his training in human movement, anatomy, neurology and biomechanics while obtaining his Doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 2006.  


Prior to graduation at NYCC, Dr. Mazzarella actively started his education in motor vehicle safety and trauma by attending over 400 hours of class room based training in Whiplash Traumatology.  


In addition, to this training, directly after graduation Dr. Mazzarella participated in the 2006 Motor Vehicle Crash Forensics Risk Analysis program offered by the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.  This program was designed as a state-of-the-art forensics program which included principles of auto crash reconstruction, human subject crash testing, pedestrian crash reconstruction, human anatomical research and injury biomechanics, design engineering, motor vehicle injury diagnosis and non-invasive/invasive clinical management methods.


Dr. Mazzarella has participated in over 700 hours of training in motor vehicle trauma injury and accident reconstruction.  In addition he has assessed over 10,000 motor vehicle accident patients using crash forensics and physical examination in order to determine injury impairment. Dr. Mazzarella also stays current in motor vehicle trauma research, testing, and teaching most recently lecturing to the Toronto Police Accident Reconstruction Unit in November of 2013, as well as to the McMasters Medical School 1st-5th year Physiatry Residents in December 2013 of the topics of occupant kinematics and injury potential analysis.
